"I found the 1812 pension application of Washington Craig on the site and it mentions several Hamilton Co. soldiers. I looked them all up, and none came up in the 1812 service records, then I re-read the application. There is a letter in it from Richard Peck that says "My brother the Captain [William B. Peck] although very correct in business matters never returned the muster roll to the proper officers". That would explain why no service records came up. The application also states that 'all (the soldiers in this company) got land warrants & pension'. Maybe some land records exist at the County Clerk's office."
