Floyd Richard Weaver, 89, died at his home on November 12, 2015. Floyd was born in Lake Pleasant, N.Y., April 12, 1926 and he lived all his life in this area.

Floyd attended schools in Lake Pleasant. He entered the Marine Corps in 1945 during World War II and became a Military Policeman. He served at Pearl Harbor, Guam and China and left the service after two years.

He worked over 30 years for the Town of Lake Pleasant Highway Department, eventually becoming the foreman. He attended Northville Pilgrim Holiness Church and was a former chief of Lake Pleasant Fire Department.

He married Marion Lamphear on August 1, 1955. He was born, married and died in his childhood home, called Mountain View House.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons: Peter (Ellen), William (Anne) and Andrew (Shelly) all of Lake Pleasant; John (Cherie) of Renton, Washington; and Charles (Donna) of Fulton, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Notes:

Floyd's brother, LeRoy Peter Weaver, also served in WWII. They are son's of Peter and Caroline Slack Weaver. LeRoy was born 29 Jun 1923 and died 11 Mar 2007. He served in teh Army from 5 Nov 1942 to 26 Jan 1946.
