If you find a family of interest within this census listing, the original census record should be consulted to obtain the best transcription possible.Columns:As this town existed only from 1839-1860 and that it wasn't enumerated seperately in 1860, this is the best federal census record available to show the inhabitants of the town of Gilman.
NOTE: For other towns it has been noted that the age in months of children under 1 year of age is consistent with a date of 1 June 1850 (not with the date of when the census was actually taken). As the census enumerator was the same person for the entire county and since he seems to be quite consistent in many aspects of his recording of this census, it seems likely that this is true for children in this town as well!
