Note at the end of the entire census schedule (for all three towns):  "By the above schedule it will __ that I return fifteen Manufactures but they do not come within the construction of the act as they do not pretend to stock  themselves, but only work such as is brought to them by their employers and beside are not wholly engaged in that business but could not be distinguished in any other manner - one ashery in operation and that only for a part of the season -  John L. Francisco Assisant to the Marshall of the Northern District of Newyork"
