John Dehart was born 13 September 1766 likely at Elizabethtown and bapt 12 October 1766 at St Johns Episcopal Church Elizabethtown N.J. son of John Dehart, wife ?
John married c 1790-1 to Jannetje Dods daughter of Bartholomew Dods and Mary Doremus. She was born 4 September 1771, baptised at Dutch Reform Church Pompton Plains Church on 20 September 1771.
John died 8 April 1833. Jane died 5 December 1847 age 47, both buried at Parsippany Morris County

John Dehart's will probated on 10 April 1833 names wife Jane,
Sons Stephen, John, Charles and Daughters Jane, Mary, Sarah, Prunella, Emeline. Executor his son in law Henry Harrison.
John Dehart was one of the leading subscibers to the erection of the present church at Parsippany and was known as "deacon"
(Church obviously still standing in 1937)
bought and sold land in Morris County. He was Overseer of the Poor in 1807, Collector 1810 & 1812, Surveyor of Highways 1813, Freeholder 1820. He was in the militia, Ensign 1801, Lieutenant 1801 and Captain in 1805
