NOTES
It appears that John ended up owning the farm as in a deed recorded May 1858 in which he deeded for $1 the burial ground lot in which are buried the bodies of Cornelius Dodds and wife and others on the farm owned by John Dods. The deed was made out to Mary E, (his mother) et al and included his sisters Nancy Putman and Catherine Ann Severin, and his children, daughters Nancy A(E)lida Dodds, Mary Esther Dodds and son Cornelius. (Ref #16 F)The children , Nancy age 20, Cornelius age 15 and Esther age 12 are listed in the 1860 Federal census of the Town of Amsterdam ( page 531) living with their cousin Peter Eglin age 65 and his wife Ann (likely Crane) (Peter was a son of their grand fathers( Cornelius) older sister Catherine Dods Eglin) Their father was supposedly dead. Where was their mother Sarah (Palmer), was she dead also?
