1. Aaron A. Brooks was born in 1819 in Warren County, NY. He died between 1854 and 1856. It is believed that he is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY. He married Lucinda Ovitt. She was born in 1822 in Warren County, NY and died Nov. 20, 1884. She is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY. Her parents were William Ovitt and Hannah Parsons. She remarried Issac Pinney after Aaron died. They had 3 children together: Margaret (b-1858), Chauncy (b-1860) and David (b-1867).

Joel Brooks
(Click to Enlarge)3. Joel Brooks was born April 14, 1840 in Thurman, NY. He died March 3, 1904 in Indian Lake. He married Helen Irene Morehouse in either Warrensburg or Thurman, NY on Sept. 9, 1864. She was born March 22, 1851 in Johnsburg, NY and died Sept. 26, 1917. Her parents were William Morehouse and Anne Hitchcock. Both Joel and Helen are buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY.

He is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery, Indian Lake, NY.

He died March 31, 1906 and is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY. He married Carrie. It is believed that they had 4 children but I could only find information on two.
i. Catherine b: 1876 ii. Marcus b: 18787. Henry Brooks was born in 1850 in Warren County, NY. He drowned in the Indian River in Indian Lake, NY Feb. 17, 1874.
8. Mary Brooks was born in April 1852. She married Lewis Morehouse after her sister Rachael died.

9. Henry B. Brooks (Allen, Aaron) was born April 1875. He married Mary. She was born in 1879. Her father was French Canadian.
10. Edward Willis Brooks (Joel, Aaron) was born Jan. 14, 1870 in Indian Lake, NY. He was also called Willis Edward. He died Oct. 28, 1931 in Indian Lake, NY. It is rumored that he killed himself. He married Jeanette Williams March 16, 1892 at Indian Lake, NY. She was born Dec. 27, 1869 and died Aug. 3, 1955. Her brother Ernest was married to Nancy.

He married Myra O'Kane Nov. 8, 1894 in Indian Lake, NY. She was born June 9, 1874 in Whitehall, NY. She died Sept. 25, 1907 and is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY. Her parents were Franklin O'Kane and Sarah Lanphear.

Iva Gertrude b: Jan. 26, 1903He married Nora Payge (Page) Feb. 6, 1915 in Speculator, NY. According to the Cedar River cemetery listing, she was born in 1896 and died in 1935. However, according to an article by Jack Leadley, Jr. in 1989 in the Hamilton County News, she was born March 4, 1886 and lived until 2 days before her 99th birthday, March 2, 1985. The Social Security Death Index indicates that she was born March 6, 1886 and died in March 1985. She is buried in the Speculator Cemetery, NY.

Clarence E. Brooks (Joel, Aaron) was born Dec. 8, 1881 in Indian Lake, NY. He died Nov. 8, 1918 and is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian Lake, NY. He married Rose Eva Savarie Oct. 6, 1913 in Indian Lake, NY. She was born in 1894 and died in 1938. Her parents were French Canadian. She was remarried to Charles E. Bennett (d-May 26, 1930). They had 2 children Daughter (b-1924) and Daughter (b-1928). Both Rose Eva and Charles are buried in the Cedar River Cemetery, NY.
i. Daughter b: 1915 ii. Joel L. b: April 29, 1918; d: Jan. 17, 1974Both children were born in Indian Lake, NY. Joel died in Orlando, FL.
13. Alena Gertrude Brooks (Joel, Aaron) was born June 10, 1884 in Indian Lake, NY. She died Aug. 15, 1923 in Indian Lake, NY. She married Dennis Donohue Feb. 20, 1905 in Indian Lake, NY. He died before 1910.
i. Helen b: July 7, 1908; d: 1930; born and died in Indian Lake, NY.14. Estella Margurite Brooks (Stella) (Joel, Aaron) was born June 21, 1887 in Indian Lake, NY. She died July 23, 1968. She is buried in the Cedar River Cemetery in Indian lake, NY. She married Francis Packard Oct. 26, 1909 in Indian Lake, NY. They were divorced. She then married Stephen King in Beaumont, TX.

15. Amy Brooks (Ernest, Joel, Aaron) was born Sept. 15, 1895 in Indian Lake, NY. She died Nov. 1970 and is buried in Speculator, NY. She married Dexter Sanford Slack. He was born 1892 and died 1931. He is buried in Speculator, NY. His parents were Henry Slack and Mary Sturges.
